Picking up the rubble, the debris, the dirt

Starting a war with no accusation

Only intent to cause trouble, to kill, to hurt

The easy way to burn a nation

A generation left dead, their stories untold

What was once commonplace is feral and vile

A dead generation who never grew up, never grew old

Their mother’s and wives left distraught and blind

The world left in ruin, in chaos, in silence

Standing by, unable to breathe

We’ve gained knowledge in art, music and science

At the cost of millions dead, who lie writhe and seethe

Through it all, young men never forget

There is glory in war, there is glory in death
